From venturing into the lush valleys of Þórsmörk, to scaling the frozen steps of the Katla ice cave and flying over the vast Skeiðarársandur outwash plains - these some of the great gems I explored during the seasonal transition from fall to winter in South Iceland.

Colors of fall are evident all around with warm tones of orange, yellow and brown on all the leaves and foliage. Snow has yet to drape the landscape and rivers formations are still flowing from neighboring glacial melt.
